Come along to Rutherglen Cemetery for a walking tour led by a Commonwealth War Graves Commission tour guide as part of War Graves Week.

Find out about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and hear the stories of some of those who died in the service of their country during World War 1, who are buried in here in Rutherglen. There are 89 casualties in this cemetery from both World Wars.

MEETING POINT is at the main entrance on Mill Street.

The tour lasts approx. 75 mins and covers about 1000 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.

There is no on-site parking but there is free parking in Broomieknowe Road where there is pedestrian access to the cemetery. There are no on site facilities or toilets. please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Only assistance dogs are allowed in the cemetery.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.
