Scouting heritage in Rutherglen
Join the 113th Glasgow (Burnside) Scouts for a series of pop up displays and community engagement on Rutherglen scouting heritage across Rutherglen from June to October 2026.
This is an opportunity for young scouts to engage with all age groups across the community and share over 115 years of their history as reported over time in the Rutherglen Reformer. Many citizens of Rutherglen were once members of youth groups and this will be a chance to capture memories and share stories. Young scouts will lead and host events building their skills and confidence .
This display will take place at the Scout hall on Crawfurd Road, but watch out for other dates being announced at:
Rutherglen Library in September
Rutherglen Town Hall in October
Stonelaw Woods
With thanks to Burnside Community Council for their support.
This project was also supported by the Rutherglen 900 Community Contributions Fund.
