Doors Open Day: Rutherglen Orange Hall, Twenty Social Club

Come and learn about the Orange Order’s history in Rutherglen from our formation in 1861 until the present year – our 165th anniversary year.

Rutherglen Orange and Purple District 20 is the local branch of the Loyal Orange Institution of Scotland. A Protestant fraternity created with the remit to promote and celebrate the worship of the Protestant religion. This event will be a showcase of the District’s history in Rutherglen and will exhibit artefacts such as banners, dress regalia, donated memorabilia and photos on show for all to see with several members available to explain what you can see and answer any questions. This open weekend is suitable for members, prospective members, those who have an interest in the Orange Order and those who don’t know anything about the Orange Order but would like to come along out of curiosity.

Rutherglen Orange and Purple District 20 is a religious fraternity operating in Rutherglen since 1861 and at our current address since 1959. Regular activities include organising and attending regular worship, organising processions to celebrate occasions close to our beliefs and principles, raising money or charitable activities for charity or community events and hosting entertainment events for public to attend all year round.

Drop in 2-6pm on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September.
